Thinking about buying a Tacoma to part out

I have the chance to get a Tacoma that hit two deer and got totaled. The Tacoma and 4Runner are pretty much the same trucks minus the body and rear suspension from what I can tell. a little about the Tacoma I’m looking at is it’s a 3rz 5speed with extended cab, what all parts interior/ exterior will work on my t4r? I plan on using the manual hubs already, maybe will the seats work too?

Actually, almost nothing is exactly the same. Here's the list of things that are identical.

Motor (directly compatible only with its year range 95-96,96-00,01-04)
Transmission (only usable with the 3RZ)
Front driveshaft (again only usable with that trans)
Front differential (some of the base Tacomas had really oddball ratios though)
Front suspension
Rear diff with locker only

That's really about it, sure there are mostly small things you can make work, and things you can use if you're not picky, but overall the entire body, interior and back half of the frame/drive train is bespoke to the Tacoma and vice versa for the 4runner, so I wouldn't go buying one personally to use for parts for the other.

I was mainly looking at it for the manual hub swap and any little piece that I like, I was wondering tho, are the pedal assemblies the same for taco/ 4Runner or are the 4cyl pedals and v6 pedals the same? I’m also piercing to get her a manual swap

Brake Pedals are all the same. The only difference you'll find is early Tacoma clutch Pedals use an external spring and late Tacoma and 4runner clutch Pedals use a spring within the pedal. Either will work. I'm pretty sure that the clutch master and line is universal but the slave cylinder is not.

It mostly boils down to the price you'll pay vs what you'll get back. Around here it's completely fair to say that if I bought a parts rig for 1200$ that ran and drove, kept a few small things (maybe $500 worth) for myself, I could still easily break even, but RZ motors demand a premium up here in the PNW ever since people really caught onto the swap so the motor swap alone could fetch $800-1500 depending on condition.

Good deal. I just bought an 02 5 lug auto for the same price with 90k mainly for the motor, mine was smashed a lot worse though. You've got a ton of good parts there for sure.
