Everything works on mine except front driveshaft.
All wiring diagrams anone else posted or mentioned did not work on my reverse lights. I found a different fsm that mentioned a white with blue for reverse and that fixed it.
I just wanted to buy a new front driveshaft because mine absolutely will not compress enough to work. At least an inch too long. Bought one from ebay for a 96 to 2000 and it is wayyyy too short. Just over 24 inches long where mine is 30 1/4" and needs to be at least an inch and a quarter shorter.
Not sure how other people can do the same swap and are able to reuse things others cant.
I retained my multimode on my 01.
What did everyone else use that worked?

The multimode transfer case is a different length than the j-shift - and so is the MT compared to the auto. You'll need a custom front driveshaft (and you *should* be using a custom rear shaft too, but I guess there was enough room in the slip on that one?).

I have a 98 5 speed SR5 with J shifter and I used to have a 2000 Auto Limited with Multimode. I have always wanted my 5 speed to have the multi mode transfer case for the AWD non-locked function. It was so much better in the winter on patchy snow and ice roads. This thread has inspired me to reinvestigate the posibility of multimoding my 98 5speed.

Oh nice, I will check my harness for a white/blue and test reverse. Did you get cruise control working?

I retained my multi-mode on my 01, I had a donor 00 truck that I swapped everything from, so I used the MT f/r shafts.

I have noticed that using the AWD mode the car feels much more touchy, since I stopped winter driving my truck I might switch to the J-shift since I don't need that AWD mode anymore.

Any luck with your cruise control, clutch cancel, and reverse lights? I have seen you asking all the 5sp swap threads lol.

I've been mobbing without all of these things for a while, but road trips absolutely suck without cruise.
