I would say try a torch and heat it up but I'm pretty sure ATF will burn. I can't imagine it would start a fire inside the trans but... not sure it's worth that kind of risk.

I'm new here and wasn't sure how to get started. This post came up on my search. 2000 4Runner I just bought with 3.4 automatic... My first pull on the tranny dip stick to check level and it would not go back in no matter what. My first guess was the previous owner bent it in some strange way and that's why it would not go in. So I bought a genuine original new one and its the same deal, it stops about maybe five inches shy. Re-orienting it does not help. it feels obstructed. Thanks if you have a guess
