Revisit Auto Climate Control Back Lights

I used the search button. Found the old posts here and on Yota tech. Researched the how to's. Pre-ordered the two bulbs that back light the LCD. Part # from forum post 81850-35020
Once I had the bulbs. I opened up the dash. Took the control unit apart and the bulbs only fit the smaller back lights for the knobs. I put a rush order for the other part number listed on the post. 81850-35030. Those came in and were the same smaller size bulbs. The parts guy said the only difference is voltage. He searched by VIN, and his computer says that all four bulbs are the same. He printed the screen for me and all for bulbs are the same part number. They just don't fit.

Tomorrow, I'm getting two different bulb sizes listed for a 2000 Limited. If that doesn't work. I have to take Thursday off and be in the Service managers office with the unit for a call to "Toyota Parts Research".

This unit may have been replaced by the first owner. Does anyone have other part numbers, for a unit from a different year, with two small bulbs on the knobs and two much larger bulbs LCD back light?

1999 Limited, Muti-mode, 3.4 auto, 4x4, factory locker, later refinements.

For the update.
Late 1999 to 2000 Limited

Smaller bulbs that light the knobs are part number 81850-35050
These are a common size used in toyota products. The base plastic that holds the lamp should be dark green. Different colors are different voltage.

The larger bulbs that light the LCD are part number 81850-35040
I don't know what the future availability of the larger bulbs will be. All I can say that in my case. One came from a dealer in Washington state, And another is due in next week from a dealer in California.

If your dash is dim. I would get it taken care of sooner then later.

Is it possible to put new bulbs into the bases, or do you have to replace the whole part? I think I found the right LED replacement part for the 35040, but not for the smaller (35050) bulb.
