Way to add insult to injury.
Who knows if this is a hack job. Can you see the quality of the welds or anything else?
He stated the coils are from a Ford and not a Toyota. Nice job reading there.
Those tires are Toyo Open Country M/Ts, not a cheap ass tire. Nice job on the assumption.

Does the 6-7" lift include a body lift? If not, something with running this much suspension lift is most likely the root of your problem.
How many miles are on the 4Runner? Know if the U-Joints have ever been replaced? Stock driveshaft?
Edit: After looking at the angle on that panhard bar, I'm guessing it's all suspension lift?
|
Yeah its all suspension, its got 160k miles and u joints have been done but not the driveshaft

Lol yeah if only it was the tires, it only vibrates in the rear so im assuming it has something to do with the way this “custom” job. Front end is a 6” fabtech w dirt logic 2.0 coilovers and camburg ucas

Generally speaking, when folks do that much lift they rotate the axle to point the pinion at the tranny and then run a double cardan or something to reduce driveline U-joint angle.
Also might be that your driveline U-joints aren’t clocked properly.
I don’t get the lower drag bar they put on for the lower shock mounts. Looks like a pavement pounder lift.
The bump stops look original....
I love the brake line mount relocation.

looks like the coil spring mounts were relocated as well. making the coils closer towards the vehicle centerline.

Hard to get perspective in that picture but the crossover Ebrake cable makes me think it's a Land Cruiser, but Land Cruiser's are offset 3rd members so it can't be that. Sure looks like a Toyota axle from my house.

I just threw on the dobinson 210v’s on my 4runner with a 4x rear bumper with a swing out and it measured 25-25.5” hub to fender. I’m right around 2.25” lifted in the front and the rake was obviously insane. I took them back off before I snapped a pic and went back to my 891’s. Giving me a roughly 1/2” rake with my 883’s up front with a coastal bumper with full tubing.
If anyone around Oregon wants those coils I have them for sale lol

Just ordered a toytec boss 2.0 kit
Put the super flex’s in with My day star spacers I was running on stock coils.
Toytec shocks had an extra 2-1/2 inches of travel with tires on the ground.
Gotta say.. I was a little skeptical to order the toytec kit but overall only installed the rear and am thrilled with the ride
Sons as the coilovers come in off back order I’ll report back
Also installing icon delta joint UCA As well...

Hey! Long time listener, first time caller. I installed the Dobinsons 210v coils this morning and I have pics! I have a 2002 limited and have had OME 890 and 891 coils before today. My suspension in front is the tundra TRD/Bilstein 5100 setup on the bottom perch. Rear has been Bilstein 5100's with 891 coils and 890's before that, both with the yellow 10mm trim pieces.
Front hub to fender is right at 22" both sides and the right rear sat about 22.25" and the left rear was 22.5" with the 891's.
After installing the Dobinsons without the 10mm trim pieces, the new measurements are 24 right rear and 24.5 left rear with half a tank of gas.

The left side looks higher because of the street grade and the angle from which the photo was taken. After a week or so I'll measure again to see if the coils have settled at all. The box the Dobinsons came in said to drive 1km and measure again; that, I did not do. I'll be getting new shocks and bumpstops this week, too.
