Thinking of selling but no clue on value

I have a 98 SR5 with 162K miles. It has rust, not horrible but not good. A few little electrical problems and a weird wobble I cant figure out. I am positive the wobble is from a busted bushing or something else broke that I cant find. I dont feel like looking any harder or replacign things. It has new LBJ,UBJ, and tierod ends.

Upside it has new tires and rims and runs great.

I was thinking $1000 but honestly have no clue. I see others for sale up to 10K.

Without seeing the extent of your rust, I can't say, but why'd you buy new tires, rims, and ball joints for a truck you're planning on selling that you think is only worth $1000?
You would have saved money just selling as is.

If you want more return (though probably not $10k), I'd recommend tackling the rust if it's not excessive with a wire wheel and POR15, and getting the wobble and electrical issues figured out. You'll probably stand to actually make money that way.

If you just want to get rid of it, stick it on CL for $1k and make someone very happy.

Even with rust as long as your control arm mounts arent rusted off the frame in the rear you're sitting on 2500 to 3500 people that know toyotas will pay that. I saw one locally here a 3rd gen in michigan with 350k miles they were asking 4500. At least ask 3500 and take whatever you want but you'll get a crap ton more than 1k. With that low of miles shoot I'll buy it for that and sell it for double next week after a solid detail lol

Im in Michigan near Detroit. yea, it is hard to tell without going and looking at other ones how mine compares. I see some for 2500 but they look nicer than mine, but could be just good pics.

Yea, maybe i list it for 3500 and see what people say. If I find some teen who likes Toyota trucks ill give him a deal.

It is my winter truck. I got snow tires last year. But since then it got this weird wobble. I think it is going to be a money pit and time suck trying to make it as nice as I want it.

Yeah I mean even if you sell the thing for 1800 or 2 grand if yours is in mediocre condition that's still doubling what you were thinking about asking lol

The wobble is usually tires that are out of balance and not a coincidence it happened right after the installation. A $60 re-balance should fix it.

I dont think it is the tires out of balance. It only happens some times. It will be fine then start and go away. Wobble is probably the wrong term. It feels like the whole tracking of the truck is off. Like the rear axle is shifting over or like a control arm is moving out of place. But then it bounces back.

Ive tried all the typical 3rd gen stuff to fix it and I am going to give up because I dont care that much. It isnt that nice of a truck for me to waste time or money on.

Yeah I feel ya. When you've decided it's not worth the effort anymore then it's time to just let it go. Had to do that with my 91 Toyota Pickup, it just wasn't worth the time & costs anymore. Hope you can get a good, fair price for it.

Check the steering column for play? The slip-joint weld is pretty easy if that’s your culprit

Show us some pics of the whip. I'm guessing you could sell the engine for damn near 1000 if it passes a compression test. You would make someone very happy if you sold the whole thing for 1000.

I'm in So. Ohio, just picked up this one...'99 2WD 4cyl. auto. Spent its entire life in So. Texas until June of this year...super clean inside, no body rust and barely any on the frame. I too have been amazed at some of the asking prices I've seen, especially on trucks with way over 200K on the clock. I gave the guy $3200, feel like I did OK...so far so good...(knock on wood)...
