34x10.5R17 KO2s: tall tires, minimal work
I think these are a nice option for people looking to get a large tire on a 4Runner without cutting or body lifts, and I wanted to give my review.
I picked up a set of these to replace some 285/75R16 Milestar Patagonia MTs. They measure out at 0.6" taller on my 4Runner. No, they do not measure a true 34", but no tire measures true to label size, and most fall short of spec sheet size under DIY measurements.
They are noticeably taller than any 285/75R16, including the Patagonia MT, which is known for running large.
Pros:- A bit taller and wider than 255/85R16s
- Narrow enough to run stock offset
- Load range D (not E) and light-ish at 55lbs
- Ultra quiet, great balance
Cons- Price. This is a big con: I picked mine up on sale for $1300 for a set of 5, but they seem to have gotten even more expensive.
- Must run 17s
I've been running them for about 6 months, and I have cycled the suspension without springs in place. I do not rub with the following relevant mods: - Front pinch weld hammered totally flat
- Fender liner remolded with heat gun
- Trimmed front bumper valence
- Relocated washer bottle
- SPC UCAs on 'G' setting
- Extended-travel King coilovers (slightly longer compressed length than OEM)
- 5.25" rear DuroBumps (already added these for LC shocks)
- 17" Tundra wheels with the same 15mm offset as OEM 4Runner wheels
- No wheel spacers

One more con: they (obviously) won't fit the stock spare area.

Any front or back shots? I'd like to see the profile on the vehicle. I like a skinny tire it just isn't to be on my 4Runner. Also not many skinny 37s. My 80s plow truck runs 235/85 which are basically a 32 x 9.25 and they rock on that thing. Look real good too.
EDIT: I guess you kinda posted a back shot. Hard to see the tire profile though. Looks good from what I can see though!

I just picked up some Hankook M/Ts in 295/75/16 (not quite the same size but close 33.8"~) last week and love them, just need to clearance more. Mind sharing more on that process?
edit: forgot to mention the biggest advantage, price. All 4 installed and shipped for $750

This photo makes it really easy to see the tire profile on the vehicle

Almost got this size but Discount Tire didn’t have them as an option on their promo so I went with 285/75/17 (33.8x11.2x17). Similar areas required cutting but being a bit wider they are most likely not going to clear the factory uca like the 34x10.5 will. I’m running Spidertrax so mine clear with room to spare.

Hi!
I want to buy those tires. They look verry nice. I have a 3 inch lift with OEM UCA. will I need to change uca to get the space I need to put them in place?
Thanks!

285/75r16 rubbed the stock knuckle at the upper ball joint... I only had hem on to drive to the tire shop as they came on the Tacoma take-offs I currently have. Sounds like ucas could potentially solve this

glad you're liking yours. i've got the slightly smaller 33-10.50-15 on my truck and believe that will be my last set of them due to the mediocre road manners (wandering). they're of course fabulous on rock. in my experience they are quite disappointing on wet snow and ice, despite their snow rating. they work pretty well in fresh snow for me. i've got a set of duratrac on my 4R, seriously love the ride, and think i'll go with those for the truck when the time comes to replace the AT/KO2.

34x10.5R17 KO2s: tall tires, minimal work
The 265/75-16 are 32x10.50... did great on the ice and dry snow we had... garaged her once they started treating the roads... here in AR it’s not too often we get to play in the frozen stuff for more than a few hours.
The AT3ws on my f150 did not disappoint, but again, we’re usually lacking here with regards to winter driving opportunities

Could you give an update on this setup? This tire seems to be the most reasonable way to get a tall tire under a 4runner without going nuts to accommodate it. Lightweight and it looks like there are a couple of 17 inch wheel options out there that get me around the same wheel weight as the factory five star 16 inch wheels.
My goal is maximum clearance and off-road ability without destroying what this vehicle is.
