New tire help please

Hi everyone,

It's time for new tires and I'm conflicted on what to do. I'm currently running a 265 BFG and am somewhat considering a 35, but not sure I want to deal with all that entails making that work.

I know lots of people run 285's but I'm wondering if there are any 295 or 305 (or anything else I'm not looking at) options that people are using that don't require as much as a 35 but still are a little more aggressive than a 285.

I'm running FN 5-spoke 16" wheels and have the Sonoran Steel lift. I don't mind some reworking of fenders, but tam trying to avoid a body lift.

Any help?

Here's a current pic of my truck.

I have a Shrockwork bumper on the way so I should get some additional clearance with that.

Thanks in advance!
Jim

I have 295/75r16 BFG KO2s, slightly bigger than a 33, they measure 33.4" tall. They will barely rub the top of the underlip of my limited flares at full stuff.

I had to grind the pinch-weld back a bit though to clear at full lock/stuff, but not enough to warrant any welding:

When I had my stock bumper I had to trim the inside of the limited bumper flares a little as well.

For the rear, the tires will rub just barely on the back of the underlip of my limited flares at full stuff. The mudflap bolts that poke into the rear wheel well did rub a little at full stuff, I just removed those (the mudflap stays on just fine without them).

I'd say 295s are the largest tire size you can be run without a body lift and only minor trimming.

Do you wheel often?

If your thinking about 35's and actually wheel put the work in to make them fit. I ran 295's and the step up to 35's was a huge difference. It takes some work to tub properly but it's not that bad. Worth every second of my time for the larger tires. I have no body lift and no rub on Pitbull Rocker 35x12.5x17, I do run 1.25" wheel spacers to keep from rubbing the frame.
