Sale on Rear Axle Tool

Hey Guys,

I wanted to pass this on in case any of you are in the market for a rear axle tool so you can perform the rear axle seal/bearing job on your 3rd Gen. Duane, the guy who makes the really nice tool that is featured in the video below has it on sale currently for $125. He usually sells it for $170.

One important thing to note is somebody has ripped off his design and is making the tools in China and importing them to the U.S. for sale. It's a complete ripoff with them even using the same wording for the product description and they even ripped off the photos I sent from my garage for Duane to use in his product listing. Please don't reward these A-Holes by buying it from them. Duane's Ebay store is called Donald-the-Bonald. Any other seller with a tool that looks like his is a counterfeit.

If you're going to buy a tool, please buy it from Duane because it's his design and he's making them in the USA at his home in Omaha Nebraska and not in some Chinese manufacturing plant using slave labor.

Here's a direct link to his tool: YouTube

Thanks!

I've posted the link to his store below so we won't have to watch the entire video to find it.

You don't have to watch the video to find it. You just need to open the video description. This is something lots of people miss. They ask me a question and I say, "Please check the video description, the answer to your question is there" or I say, "Please check the comment I pinned, the answer to your question is there." In both locations we always offer helpful information.

Basically Mike, the purpose of me telling people to get the link from the video description is to help train people to look there in our videos for helpful info. Information for the repair, part links, tool links, and torque values are all there. The pinned comments are mostly used for updates for the job and as an overflow when I run out of room in the video description to share information. There is a maximum amount of characters allowed for the video description.

I spend a great deal of time answering people's questions so it's advantageous when the person can find the answer to their question by checking the video description or pinned comment. Some people ask me questions that are clearly covered in the video but they either missed it, skimmed past the info they needed or they didn't bother watching it all.

Anyway, I blabbed enough on this but now you understand the method to my madness.

Less steps involved in clicking the link I posted since it takes you straight there. Less time spent finding the link means more time available for working. It's all about being lean.

Ok Mike, point made. But the purpose of me posting the video is to also let people know there is a video showcasing the use of the tool. This will help people make the decision to purchase Duane's tool because they have a video showing them how to use it.

that stinks that someone is making a copy in china. That tool and your video saved me tons of $$$ doing both my seals and bearings.
I resold the tool, and wish I had not , but where I live now, I would not be able to do the job again. If I needed that tool I would def get his tool. American made so quality wont be an issue, giving work to the man who invented it, keeping money in the states.
thank you for your videos, and I thank Duane for the tool.

Saddly, I think that the china ones will be the big seller in the future....people are cheap....just like doing the job and trying to use the cheapest aftermarket bearings and seals.
then of course they complain about the life of those seals and bearings, or watch you video and don't flip the retainer and complain about still having leaks.

thanks again for all your and infamous ( spelling ?) and other helpers and video guys for your videos and all your help on this forum

ive had my eye on these for a while. I built one out of an old housing a few years ago. it was quick fab work, to get a job done. but not something I want to monkey with for future jobs.

I will be ordering one now. but im getting the $172 kit, with the adapter plate.

thanks for the heads up.

You may be right Joshua but Duane's listings do say, "The Original - Made in the USA" and if Duane can come close to the China copy prices, he will still make the lion share of the sales. At least I hope he does. It kills me how some people can just rip somebody off for their intellectual property and be totally fine with it. You can only hope Karma is a real thing and these people will be shit on big time for the crap they have done to others.

I was only messing around, and wasn't trying to sound like a dick. I purchased this tool last based on your recommendation, and it works great.

Isn't there a way to flag the fake tool in Ebay? I'm going to try that now.

Edit: Is Enixwh the fake one?

There's a way to flag it, but you have to be able to prove that there's a copyright infringement or patient violation (link to eBay page). Without being able to prove that, there's nothing eBay can do. Technically speaking, there's nothing illegal about it. It's not like Craigslist where you can flag anything you want, and get it removed.

Also keep in mind that there's Enixwh, tiewards, hl_supershop, best-autoparts, and many others selling this item or one very similar.

Mike

I have the original one you recommended in the video. I think it came from India (and it worked fine btw) Wish I'd have known about the US made one at that point!
