3rd Gen Hilux Surf reverse beeping

Does anyone on here know how to deactivate the reverse beeper on the 3rd gen Surf? It's driving me nuts!

It sounds like it's emitted from the dash somewhere but I can't track it down without ripping the interior out. I'd rather know where I am going before I start dismantling.

Thanks in advance for any knowledge.

Remove?

Really? I added an alarm just to let me know that the shifter is in reverse.

I did this to my LC as well.

When ever I come to a stop (for prolong period), I shift the lever to "N", one day I had it in "P" and thinking it was in "N" I just shift one place down and ended up backing up.

IF you plan to remove the alarm unit, let me know I may buy it from you.

well here is the true root of the problem. you are creating an issue with your driving habits and you are 'fixing' it by adding something you dont need. surely TX traffic isnt that bad?

I'm going to try to make time to remove it Sunday. Not sure if it'll go straight into a North American gauge cluster though.
