89T4runner's 2000 Silver Sport
Hi all, long time lurker here, but I figured I'd post a build up of my 4runner. It's (another) millennium silver 2000 sport with an elocker. I got it coming up on two years ago after I finished up my time at the local community college. I was moving away to go to finish up college and decided that I wanted something newer to drive than my 1989 first gen.
Toyotas have been a huge part of my life with my family always owning no less than four toyota trucks at any given time. Currently my dad has a 2006 4runner 4wd with an FJ cruiser rear elocker axle swap, my brother has a 2003 tundra TRD with dirt logic 2.5s and Icon AALs, and then my two toyotas make up the rest for now until one of us decide to get another.
Anyways back to my 2000. It was bone stock with 177k on the clock. I drove it that way for a few months while I slowly collected some parts for it. I ordered rear tundra 5100s, OME 890 rear springs, and bought some NIB fox 2.0 coilovers off of Craigslist for cheap.
Here it is after I got the suspension on
It stayed this way for a while with old tires stock wheels until I found a set of 265/75 KO2 with 9/32s left for 30 bucks
At some point I drove to Califabrications to pick up a TJM front bumper since my stock had a nice dent and crease in it
The next big thing was new wheels. I got a set of 16x8 atx ax202s (ax201s?) I forget the number.
I also adjusted the front coilovers to level it out a bit better. That's pretty much it for exterior mods. Interior wise I have an ultragauge set up with a spiker engineering mount which is one of my favorite mods to the truck. That's really it for interior wise for now lol
How she sits now
I'll post up later with my future mods and wishes.
Please post any thoughts and I'm open mod advice!!

Over the last weekend I got my 4xinnovations sliders welded on. My girlfriend got these for me for Christmas so it was nice to finally have them on after sitting in the garage.
Anyways, so future plans with this rig is as follows
-315/75/16 tires (already bought)
-4.88 gears and ARB front locker (already have the ARB laying around)
-Roof rack and RTT (Sherpa is the rack I want)
-Drawer and fridge set up
-Rear 4xinnovations bumper/tire carrier
-Rear Fox shocks (input on which ones to go with would be great!)
-Supercharger (MAYBE)
-little bits here and there such as seat covers, GPS, CB radio, sound system, floor mats, blah blah blah
I'm in my last semester of college and I got a job lined up for when I graduate so for the next 5 months, I probably wont be able to knock of many of the big things on this list, but I plan to keep this truck for a long time as my wheeler/camping rig so once money becomes not so tight I hope to build a rig as nice as some of the other members on this forum, and maybe get together for some offroading with yall!
Thank you to whoever took the time to read!

The Foxs ride like butter. The bilsteins and OME 890s ride decent, a little stiff with no weight. I can definitely tell the front is more controlled compared to the rear but when I have the truck loaded up with weight it feels a lot better. I'm hoping that when I get my rear bumper and tire carrier, it'll help make the rear more plush. But eventually I will make the switch to Foxs in all four corners.

@OP: great looking truck so far, can’t wait to see your project as it progresses!
How do you like the TJM bumper? I’ve been thinking about it quite a bit. I like the price, and the only thing I would add to it is a grille guard on top. Do you know if that’s a feasible thing to do on that bumper? I know nothing about welding, so forgive me for the stupid question.

Did a thing today
today
Honestly, i think they're too big. They dont rub terribly, but with the lift I have, the wheel wells look stuffed. Ordered a set of 285/75/16 Duratracs to swap out. I'll come back to 315s when I get gears and adjust the lift some.

Got the duratracs mounted a couple weeks ago. Trimmed some plastic and no rub at just under 2 inches of lift. They will rub the pinch at flex so next time I have a garage space I'm gunna do some cleaning. Overall very happy with them. I honestly can hardly tell only a little difference in power. 4:30s turn them just fine for me. Ride quality is vastly improved over the 265 K02s.
Also replaced sway bar bushings and bought a detours tire carrier.

Thank you!
In case anyone cares about this information, I have JBA upper control arms and I'm running 3.7 degrees of caster on the driver's side and 3.9 on the passenger
I was thinking about bumping it up to 4 and 4.2 during my next alignment. Does anyone know if that would be worth it for some extra clearance or would the movement be fairly minuscule?

Very nice looking rig. I just ordered the same front bumper and was wondering when lights you have installed for the turn signals? Thanks.

Thanks! I used the turn signals that tjm supplies with their bumper! Just spliced two wires each side.

Broke out of quarantine to take the family on a quick drive down Old Latrobe Road. Got a little flexy on one part of the road.
Also changed the oil and installed some 6 1/2 speakers in the rear doors today. Best Buy had Kenwood KFC651s on sale for 37 bucks and with a mounting depth of 1.9 I figured they'd fit great.
I ordered some 5 1/4 speaker adapters off of Amazon and used the cutout on the back of th speaker box to trace where I need to enlarge the hole of the adapter.
I used a dremel with a cutoff wheel and cut along the circle.
I used two of the screws that hold the adapter down to also hold the speaker. The other two screws (adapter to door) I countersunk so the speaker would lay flat. Then I drilled two new holes for the speaker to adapter screws and put it all together.
I used a Metra speaker wire adapter so I didnt have to do any soldering. I did have to dremel a channel on the adapter plate for the wires so they wouldnt be pinched. All said and done it took maybe an hour and a half for both sides and everything clears with plenty of room! Suuuuuper easy to do as well!
