Just what the dr ordered, simple winter project

Been a while since I worked on Project SportRunner and thanks to some suggestions from folks here on a simple winter project I had something to do in the shop.

Got the lights from @Jason B and the quality is great. Been through two rain storms and not a hint of fogging.

I've got a few more things on the list now as well to keep me busy until drag racing seasons starts up again in the spring so stay tuned

I ran in to an unexpected issue as you'll see, and we'll get that addressed next.

This 4Runner isn't just a 20 year old beater rig for the trails to me. I think these will become classics so projects I do have to be like OEM or better. It's funny since I've been working on this truck for nearly 20 years and seeing how I do things now with some experience vs how I did them 20 years ago LOL.

More to come...

Solid video. I like your attention to detail.

I upgraded to the DEPO tails in 2016 and they have been working excellent with so far. I check them every now and then if any of the diodes have burnt out; none so far. (knock on wood)

When you mentioned the flasher doesn't produce an extra click, I went and just ordered it at that moment. My adjustable LED flasher makes an extra click after the stalk turns off. So annoying!

Do the reverse LEDs produce more usable light at night? I've noticed some LEDs, even though they are bright, are not as functional as the factory incandescent.

Lots of folks are unaware that in LED is best to match the replacement bulb with the color of your lenses [ This holds true in the OEM light fixtures. Replacing the entire fixture with designed LED may be a different scenario. I prefer to keep things OEM as much as possible.

On the reverse light question the answer is yes. I even added little 1/2 x 4 inch strip under mine on Tetanus 1. I take a photo of it if I can someone take the photo with them on. Majorly big difference for backing up as Trucks always had very crappy reverse lights. With are tinted out rear windows this makes worse.

Yeah I'm pretty happy with the flasher relay. It's all around quieter than the factory one and I don't hear any extra clicks. The translation on the thing cracked me up.

The LED backup lights are a brighter cleaner light than the factory ones. It's not like a 100 watt flood light, but definitely brighter.
