Rust belt 3rd member back plates

I dont know how good these are or if they fit the 3rd gens 3 members properly. However Amazon has these 4 sale now.

Amazon.com: Differential Covers - Transmission & Drive Train: Automotive

If anyone used them and they worked properly please let me know. As my one used housing has a few pinholes in this plate and these would fix it making the housing very usable again.

Dorman lists as being specific to our 3rd gens.
One review says fit a 2001 Tacoma.

Differential Cover | 926-993 | Rear Differential Cover | Dorman Products

Looks like a good solution.

Yes I noticed that it supposed to fit. I just curious if it actually does.

Mostly the tocuma always fit any kind of replacement cover because they dont have a lateral control arm really close to the differential. It does look like it will fit. I just curious if anyone has done it.

I guess it fairly safe to say that nobody's done this yet. That's ok. Eventually I do the axle housing I saved with a pin hole in it and replace the back plate.

Can't wait till someone tries to put one on with a wire feed. I'd rather (and did) have the Barnes cover. 20 dollars more gets you a larger cover that's thicker too.

You could try it and if it doesn’t provide the clearance you need you have a good excuse to put leaf springs in the back and an 80 series axle in the front

Great to know. As I heard stories of people not checking clearances and it hit the lateral control arm smashing it into the 3rd member. I believe if I do one I use the one you have.
