OEM Axles: Brand new or Reman? Sold by Toyota

AXLE ASSY REMAIN - Toyota (43430-35030-84) | Toyota Parts

Are remans our only option?

Are the remans built by Toyota?

My current axles are fine but the boots are starting to crack at the surface closer to the wheel hub.

The remans here are cheaper than the best deal I've found on what appear to be new OEM - unless it's all re-manufactured stuff

I always said if I would buy anymore. I buy remain Toyota OEM. I have a rig running new napa ones. Without issues. However, new OEMs are quite costly and remans are not much higher then new Napas.

i wanted to go silicone because i thought it would be the most tear resistant, after reading the reply on post 151, i figured i would be fine with new napa axles. espcially seeing that other users have reported that napa will replace these CVs if you have a torn boot and the original receipt. for what you get from the new napa axles, i think its a steal at that current price.

if you catch your boots dying soon enough (and it sounds like you have), you can reboot the current CVs that you have and should be okay. this may be another great option.

i have been pleasantly surprised with the new napas. at the price i am still shocked they offer a lifetime warranty and will replace if you have a torn boot (from what ive read on here), despite the CVs coming with a note that napa will not replace CVs with just torn boots.

edit: a tip i recommend with any part that has a life time warranty, but you have to keep the receipt: keep the receipts in your glove box affixed all together by a paper clip or keep them in a secure file that you know you can access at any time. i personally keep them in my glove box so if i ever need to head to napa at any point in time, i know that i can just pull it straight from the glove box.

i am willing to bet that some of these companies know the majority of people will either lose or throw away the receipt, making their lifetime warranty now a moot point. and if its not the majority, its still a substantial amount of people not taking advantage of this.

Thanks everyone!

We have O'Reilly Pep Boys, and Autozone in these parts. I haven't seen a Napa in a long while - there is ONE within 20 miles. I was inspecting ball joints and noticed the outer boots are starting to dry crack on the surface. Napa online has L/R Reman $60 and "New" $82

Toyota OEM remains are on back order!

The ones I have should hold for a few more months at least. Maybe I will order OEM and wait. $136 from Boch toyota South.

I am doing ball joints, CA bushings, outer tie rods, thought I'd get the axles at the same time but this changes the project schedule - dont want to take the hub off twice

the remans at napa are acutally more up front. you have to return to get your core for it to be cheaper. although with a 20 dollar difference and no core and a much better warranty, id rather go new from napa (versus their reman). the other plus is if your current axles are still good/need a reboot you get to keep them as a spare.

also, dont buy anything other than OEM toyota lower balljoints.
