97 Anyone know this one
So I was trolling Craigslist and found this one in Orlando, FL site.
I am really digging the paint job. The whole rebuilt title thing is scary to me but...
Is this anyone's on here or has anyone seen it?
The things I find when I get bored at work.....
Classic Toyota 4runner 4X4 OFF ORAD 1 Owner Low Miles - cars &...
BTW - my 99 seems pretty happy now that the coolant lines were fixed and she's running pretty good. Hoping something else doesn't take a dive now.
Cheers!

the rebuilt title wouldn't scare me too much, considering even relatively minor damage is enough to total a vehicle that old, the only things I would worry about would be the accuracy of the odometer, since the 97 has an analog odometer it would be very easy to roll back, and I would also be concerned about the issue of matte paint being hard to keep looking nice, I would be more interested if it was gloss.

That thing is covered in gingerbread.
It has that 80's classic Toyota look to it.
Them snake hunter boys need to buy that thing.

It looks like a life sized Hot Wheels 4Runner, but not in a good way.

Good quick check when buying a salvage titled vehicle. Get the Vin number and plug it into poctra.com. It will search the salvage auctions and bring up the vehicle if it's ever been through. Gives you a chance to see the damage that was actually done to the vehicle, as well as identify that it was likely fixed by someone who was flipping the vehicle, not the real owner.

nothing beats a test drive and once over.
Mine is a salvage title out of California but once the test drive was done, and the vin check came back with actual pictures of the repaired damage, I went in fearless.

Those steel wheels look like the OEM ones from my old housemate's Chevy pickup, kinda digging the finish though.

Yeah the steel wheels do look a lot like 80's GM rally rims. Why have beauty rings on a 4runner? Doesn't seem right. I wouldn't mind the paint had they omitted the gold. I think it makes it look "weird". But to each his own.

I kinda like the paint scheme - big fan of 80s styling in general (when it comes to cars.) The wheels are awful though.

I think the beauty rings on the wheels work well in that scheme because of the chrome bumpers.
Plain steelies would've looked too...plain...like incomplete/unfinished. Like when people slam their cars' suspension, body kits, crapload of decals, etc but run their stock steelies...or even worse plastidipped or painted in a clashing color #becauseoriginality

Not sure how I feel about the paint... not my thing - but I really like what he did to the door panel inserts - the black isn't as obnoxious as I would have thought.
