2001 ABS Control Unit Location

I looked in the passenger kick plate and there is NO ABS control unit.
I have P0500 code. ABS/CEL/VSS lights are on. When I short E1&Tc cruise control light flashes. No ABS code blinks for diagnosis.

You're probably not going to like this, but the separate modules on the passenger side of the engine bay are 1996 - 2000. 2001 and 2002 use an ABS system that is integrated into the master cylinder. Instead of a skinny metal conventional looking master cylinder with lines that lead to the other side, you probably have a more complicated master cylinder that looks like this:

I get the impression that they are spendy, and have a higher failure rate than the earlier standalone units. I notice that they're always missing on junkyard 01-02's as well.

So the ABS Control Unit I’ve read about in many places is the skid Control unit for 2001-02?

The photo of master cylinder matches what I have but it doesn’t appear to have any electronics.

Thank you for the links

Electronics are there. Did you find the price of that unit?
