Looking for interior door lock options

I'm looking for alternative ideas for solving my constantly-pushing-the-door-lock-with-my-elbow situation

Do you think there is a realistic way to use the below style handle and associated linkage in place of the original?

Another idea is to use a different button that is located farther down the door panel like the 2nd pic and I feel a 3d printer would really help!

I'm not adverse to modifying/chopping/rewiring things but if there is easier option besides just cutting the oem button, I'm all ears.

I think the second option would be the easiest, you'd just have to take off the original lock indicator and swap it, but the first option would be possible with enough modification. It all just depends on learning how to bend everything the right way.

With the first one, the actual handle itself likely would work without much (if any) modification, but for the lock indicator you'd probably have to bend the linkage and maybe cut or extend it to get it to work.
