5th gen wheels on a 3rd gen?

I plan on getting new wheels and tires on my 2018 4runner. My wife wants my 3rd gen. I have a 2" lift and Tundra front brake upgrade on the 3rd gen. Will stock wheels and tires from the 5th gen fit?

If they’re 17s like most, they’ll mount right up, clear the brakes, and with your lift, I’m sure they’ll clear the body just fine. The usual 265/70r17 is just a tad larger diameter than stock 16s, so speedo will indicate about 2mph lower than actual speed @ 65. Much less at lower speeds so not a big deal.

Edited bc of bad math ;)

Yep, the only wheels that aren't quite right spec wise are 16's off of 2nd and 3rd gen Tacomas, but they still fit with stock sized tires too.

Here's my 3rd gen on 5th gen trail edition wheels.

I have some of these wheels that I plan on putting on when I get new tires. Love how they look with the black!

5th gen wheels definitely fit, though I found with my 3" lift, and 285/70 tires I had to install a 1.25" spacer on the front to (mostly) avoid rubbing.
