Need help with PS o-ring

Hey all,

I removed my power steering reservoir to clean out the garbage inside.

When I went to reattach it to the pump, the 20 year old o-ring broke. Does anyone know the size or number (not the part#) this o-ring is? Is this nitrile rubber?

This little o-ring is keeping me from getting this done, and none of the dealers have it in stock.

Thanks,
Scott

Best to just take the res. with you and match one up. An assortment kit should have something to make do.

I guess that's why the FSM calls that part non-reusable.

You may want to look up a local Bearing supplier call them and see if they have a Large O ring assortment. They are a good resource for seals and bearings unless you just have to have Steeler-ship.

Where I live there is a place that has whole sale Nuts and Bolts they also do custom oil pressure hose. When getting O-rings in places like hardware stores make sure they are rated for oils.

Having spent almost a whole day trying to figure out what size spec of o-rings they used in Japan, it's not a kind you'll easily find at American stores, the cross-section sizes are different. Just go to the dealership and see what they have they probably have an assortment of Japanese spec ones.
