ride height '96 limited vs '01 SR5 both stock

I have had the '01 for about 5 years and just bought the '96. Both stock 16" rims. I noticed the '96 sits higher by about 1-1/2" measuring from the hub to the fender skirt. Anyone know why? Both have about the same mileage 158K.

There are differences in years. AKA 99 talls..... it’s all covered in depth in the Stickies.

The ride gradually increased from 96 to 99 and went down after 99.

What's your measurement? My 98's and my 99 were all 20 to 20.5" hub center to fender. That's on 20 year old suspension. No idea what they were new.

20" is the 'normal' measurement that all lifts are calculated from. Stock, the 01/02's are pretty low (more like 19" or less). Just getting back to 20" hub to fender will make the suspension much more comfortable by keeping it off the bump stops in day-to-day driving.
