Lift Question
Hey all,
01 SR5 here. Wanted to add a “little” lift to keep tired from rubbing. It’s a daily so I just need an inch or two. Probably just going with coil spacers. How much can I safely add without changing anything else?

Coil spacers won’t move your bump stops, so won’t prevent rubbing.
Probably your best bet without doing anything else would be to get a properly sized tire, or properly backspaced rim.
Those would be one and done type moves.

Ditto. Also, get the front end aligned for max caster for more clearance at the back of the wheel well.

Thanks everyone. Not actually trying to lift for bigger tires, but the ones I have are “slightly” bigger than stock and are rubbing on the mud flaps just a touch.
Just hoping to raise it up enough so that stops. Probably only need an inch or two. Just hoping the spacers would be an easy and cheap option to gain a “little” clearance.

You could also trim as necessary for more tire clearance.
I'd assume that you'd have to get longer shocks in the rear if you did want to do spacers front and back, and possibly extend your rear brake lines. Front should be able to handle a 2" spacer lift with no other modifications other than an alignment.

The wheels travel in the same arc no matter the ride height. They will rub even after a small lift. Just get an alignment and have them "max" the caster. No parts needed (unless your alignment cams are seized).

It sounds like a 1 inch body lift is what you are looking for. That will give you the clearance without having to touch your suspension.

Maybe if you let on what size your tires are and what rim setup folks could provide better answers.

Thanks for the advice!
1. How much “body lift” can I add without changing anything? Or should I just stick with stock? A few of mine are SHOT! But, if I’m going to replace them, I’d like to add a little lift, but don’t want to have to modify anything else.
2. Where would you guys recommend purchasing these body mounts? Poly or stock?

No help here, I have a 00 Limited and went from stock 265/70/16 to 265/75/16 on stock rims without rubbing. How big of slightly bigger tires did you go?

Exactly the same set up but mine is an 01 with stock rims. Just replaced shocks/coils all the way around too. Body mounts are shot though. Going to replace them, but thought I might add an inch or two if I am going through all that anyway.
Just don’t want to have to modify anything else.

I just installed a 1" body lift from 4crawler to reduce tire rubbing. Get the steering spacer with the kit. At 1", you won't need to modify anything else, just readjust your shifter linkage, remove the lower fan shroud, and redrill the bumper holes. I think that I can actually put the fan shroud back on and still have about a 1/4" of clearance, so I might try that.
The kit was around $130 with tax and shipping. Very easy to do, especially if you're going to be replacing your bushings anyway. I reused my OEM bushings, so can't comment on poly vs OEM.
I'd recommend a 1" BL in your situation, that should fix your rubbing issue.

Did you replace shocks and coils with oem? My 00 has originals and I am looking to replace but trying to get about 2" of lift at the same time.
What is the snow conditions north of Duluth? I am considering a trip up to Tofte-Carlton Peak just as an excuse to get out of the house this weekend.

If you're gonna lift it, don't go spacers. Save the money and once you have enough, buy the 5100s/OME combo
