Exclamation first time doing shocks, look what i ran into, need advice

Hey guys, had a H E L L of a time getting the old shocks and bushing off. I have a feeling they are not designed for this truck.

I cant fit the new shocks on, the stud is too big on the shock mount. Then i had an epiphany

can you guys tell me if i am right or wrong before i cut this ****er off?

The axle side stud is that entire piece you’re looking at. There is no sleeve in that video. I believe the bushing size on those are 3/4”. What is the I.D. on your new lower shock bushings? What shocks/ part number are you trying to install?

That was a fiasco. It was a sleeve, or part of the old shocks. The Procomp 3/4" bushing slid on nice and tightly after I removed it

Never seen that before. I'm guessing who ever installed the previous shocks had bushings with the ID too large and put that sleeve on there to compensate instead of getting the correct size lower shock mount bushing.

That’s bizarre. I couldn’t see the sleeve’s outline over the stud mount in your video so it appeared to be one solid piece. Good job! Is there a sleeve on the stud mount on the other side of the axle?

Yeah there is. Gotta do that one still

Maybe his shock bushings had a steel core, and this is the core.
