Quick questions: 3rd Gen Problems.

Hey so when I go and pull the release lever for the gas cap I get no tension and it doesn’t open. I have to push the gas lid to get it to open. What do I need to buy a spring or new cable? I examined the entire cable.

I also replaced my rear hatch bottom latch and now it won’t lock. Is there a reset or is that part defective? It doesn’t respond to my door locks.
And finally! Quick questions: 3rd Gen Problems.

I replaced my front brake hoses to correct the pull when I brake hard and the steering wheel still moves a little. Maybe rotate my tires or adjust the rears brakes? Or bleed the crap out of them? I bleed them three times
Thanks Guys!
I’m home and bored during this crazy time and would like some help! Quick questions: 3rd Gen Problems.

Maybe your rotors are warped and need turning

I bought a spri mgg at hardware store for 3 bucks or something close to that 5 yrs ago and my gas cap door still works great. I'd start with the spring.

Sounds like you have a control arm bushing going bad. Have someone brake hard from 3-5 mph while you watch the tire for a shift in toe. Start with whichever side it pulls to.

Same thing happened on mine recently - the spring fell off because the plastic clip on the inside of the fuel filler door broke. Fortunately, I heard it fall when I opened the filler door.
I tried to epoxy it back in place, but on the next fill-up, I again heard the spring hit the ground.
Plan B for now, to open the fuel door, I have a 6' dog leash I clip onto the under-dash release so I can reach the door to open it.
Time to look into plan C.

Edit - Plan C = Looks like the OEM spring from the dealer is an "assembly" which includes the plastic that snaps onto the door. Part Number 77360-0E010

So is a broken clip what causes the cable to not have any tension?

The tension is in the gas door hinge.

The cable just retracts the pin holding the door closed. The spring pops it open when you pull the cable. No spring, no pop-open.

Does it lock/unlock with the key in the hatch? You may also need to lube up all the mechanisms in there. Mine got sticky and wouldn't operate most of the time with the lock solenoid. Lubing up got it going again.

Quick questions: 3rd Gen Problems.

I figured it out the black connection was in the wrong spot and rubbing and preventing the cable from retracting. But I unplugged the plug that goes to the key and now it won’t lock. Do I have to reset it?
