Door lock troubleshoot

Hi all
Trying to troubleshoot the electric locks on my 2000.
Testing the door key lock switch.
It works In both directions when it is removed from the door lock
When it is mounted on the lock, it only works in the unlock direction.

HOWEVER, the key cylinder only moves from centre to the unlock direction. It does not rotate in the lock (counterclockwise) direction from the start point.
The rear hatch key rotates in both directions to lock and unlock. And I’m assuming the door key should too.

It’s getting old and I think the lock is broken

Can anyone confirm that your door lock does restate to the left when you manually lock the drivers door ?

Thanks in advance.

On my 2000 SR5 I have a similar problem.

On the drivers side I can lock the doors only
On the passenger side I can unlock the doors only

The key only turns one way.

The lock on the tailgate works fine, lock ,unlock, roll down window,

This is with the Original set of keys and new ones made.

One Key for the ignition, one for the doors,

Tried to used Graphite, nothing changed,

I am wondering if possibly the one key is a valet key ? Seems odd that it would be, if they even had them in 2000. Plus the way it works makes no sense as a valet key.

So I use the FOB, which works just fine.
