That looks pretty good. Doesn't stick way out so the departure angle isn't compremised. However that tab for the tire carrier looks pretty vulnerable??? Is the tab welded on?
Yeah it’s welded. It’s beefy as well.
The latching mechanism is insanely stout. It’s not the run of the mill metal latch you see as commonplace for most manufacturers. It engages solid and is a very tight fit.

I ordered front and rear and got it in 5 weeks. Just got the rear bumper on, now i have to paint the swing out, jerry can holder and the front bumper. Huuuge help from the wife. This is NOT a one person job at all.
It can be done with another $250 worth of HF transmission jack, plywood, and sketchy ratchet straps.

I found a TJM front bumper locally for $640 out the door. This staying at home stuff is getting expensive! Also, 4 wheel parts had a great deal on their Gen 2 X2O Comp series 12k winch at just $530 shipped to my door...
I'm just a broke college student with a moderate 4Runner so far, but I dream of getting a swingout one day. I've always wanted a 4xInnovations (the price seems fair, it'd match my ARB nicely, and I've never read a bad review of them), but there's a new swingout on the market that has really caught my eye. They don't have an official business page yet, but Nguyen Works makes a badass high clearance rear bumper with swingout option. I think right now they're $700 without a swingout or $900 with the swingout. And they seem happy to add plenty of options, like hi lift/rotopax/jerry can mounts, or side protection hoops.

Spoke wth Nguyen
$1K with a single arm, $1400 with dual arm. 7 week lead time.
Probably gonna go this route.

I’ve been very happy with my CBI rear swing out FWIW. I know they’re a little more expensive but the build quality is fantastic and the lead time is a lot shorter (at least it was when I bought mine). As far as front, I went with Shrockworks and am also very happy with it. Longer lead time but the build quality was just as beautiful as the CBI rear.

If you actually live near Addicted Offroad, he will build a swingout for you. You just have to drop the truck off.
Pic was from last year, dont mind the rear sag, as it was loaded with my hunting gear before airbags.

The hitch mount carrier is custom made from Detours Of Maine for a 4th gen. I just had to buy a hitch raise/lower adapter to make it work with the Addicted bumper. No biggie. The carrier does allow another hitch to go in just fine. I just test fitted my big Rola carrier for my next hunting trip.
FYI. I was about to order a custom tube bumper from Nguyen Works. Unfortunately, his bumpers do not include a tow hitch. Having a hitch is a vital point for me, so I asked about it, but he says he doesn't include a hitch because he can't guarantee test load. Bummer.
I love my CBI rear bumper. Picked it off of a wreck in ABQ and should've taken the front as well. 300$;)
I'm hopefully buying a 99 today or tomorrow and will go with CBI again or something like it with the swingout.
Would definitely be interested in a group buy.
last couple pages on my build thread i have some details, build is in signature
thats totally fair, im bored and love cutting and practicing melting metal then grinding when it looks like poo.
I got very very close to buying a secondhand one multiple times to retrofit. Ended up deciding to start fresh and really solidly mounted to the frame.
I've been happy with my 4XInnovations rear bumper:
