Show me your FCC ID's (on back of key fob)

Hey guys,
Need your help....

Im interested to see if we all have the same FCC ID or slightly different ones across the board...

If you have a 1999-2002 with a VIP rs3200 factory alarm system then please respond with your year 4runner & FCC ID. Sorry, 96-98 4runners, these rigs typically came with the VIP rs3000 system which has a slightly different FOB & a different way to program new keyless entry modules.

I'll start with my Thundercloud rig which I can successfully program a new fob..

2002 Toyota 4Runner Limited
FCC ID - HYQ12BBX

I'm trying to solve an issue where my 2000 Limited BLACK truck goes into programming mode to add a new FOB but will not accept ANY of my fobs....

& I've tried it with 5 different FOBS...

thanks for your help my dudes!

Not sure if I have the rs3200 alarm, though I do have the blinking red light.

Anyway, my fob is HYQ1512Y

'99 SR5 with no extra alarm/immobilizer, just the regular remote:

FCC ID: HYQ1512Y

I believe the remote is the same whether you have the RS3200 installed or not - the back door ECU handles the wireless communication, not the alarm.

Is there an 'erase' mode you can get into to start over? Maybe the remote pairing slots are full?

the FCC ID - HYQ12BBX takes on my 2002 but not my 2000... it could be a lock cylinder or actuator problem too but not too sure...

Did you clear the fob memory? My 97 wouldn’t program a new fob until I cleared them all out and started over.

if you have a 97' then you probably don't have the same alarm system as the 99-2002's have...

does your FOB look the same as the one in my original post?

Question 2001 sr5

Not sure what alarm my '01 has.. but the FCC ID is HYQ12BBX

I bought some spare fobs from a reputable ebay seller a year or so ago and could never get mine to hold programming. No clue why.

So my 2002 limited takes the FCC ID I posted in the original post & my 2000 limited does not...

Can anyone else add their FCC ID’s so see how many versions we have out there?

- thanks

Didn’t see your post for some reason.
This is a good point, however my 2002 will forget all codes & just re-program the fobs I have when it goes into programming mode....

So it’s interesting to compare the 2... both go into programming mode fine.. the silver one programs a FOB no problem, the black one doesn’t want to accept a FOB although the system WILL respond to the FOB in some fashion...

I was playing around holding different buttons & the car was holding the unlock chime & locks were cycling with another combination of holding down buttons for a long period of time..

Weird

Any Luck?

Have you had any luck getting your key fob synced to your truck?

I have a 1999 Desert Dune Metallic 4x4 SR5 and I am also having trouble getting the remote synced. When I bought the 4Runner it didn't have any key fobs so I have nothing to work off in knowing what is the original.

I bought a couple of the 3rd party HYQ12BBX models on eBay which are listed as being for the 1999 4Runner but I cannot get either of them to sync. The locks always cycle twice indicating the pairing did not take. However, this does confirm that I do have a keyless entry option since they are being rejected.

Does anyone know what key fobs my 4Runner should have? Or does anyone have any suggestions on how I can move forward?

Note: I have become a pro at getting the 4Runner into programming mode and could do it with my eyes closed (literally) but I never have any luck. I have already tried wiping out the previous key codes and tried paring the fobs in Add Mode and Rewrite Mode. I used Prohibition Mode to wipe all previous key fobs and I have used Confirmation Mode to verify that there are no key fobs currently synced to the car. I used the repl.pdf guide to help me learn about the different modes in a post that was originally made by TheDirk here.

Also, like many of the older 4Runners my door actuators are getting tired so I just roll down the window and put an extra key in the door to do lock/unlock cycle. It works like a charm and I can get it into programming mode in less than a minute every time. Originally I was having trouble getting the car into programming mode but I found out that my door jamb switch was bad so I replaced that in about 5 minutes using this amazing guide. I bought a new door jamb switch on Amazon for about $20.

Thank you to everyone who is a part of this amazing community in helping strangers with their problems!

I bought a aftermarket remote for my 97 and it wouldn’t program. Took it to the fob tester at AUtoZone and compaired my working fob to the new one and the led profile was totally different. I tried one more time with an aftermarket and failed.

I gave up and bought a like new used one on eBay for 30 dollars. It programmed instantly.
