Can you help me figure this out?

Hi,
I would like to ask the members for help in trying to find a solution to this problem I'm having.

2002 4runner limited, metallic green, 4wd approx. 180,000 miles, second owner, looks great and no rust even though I live in Vermont, undercoated every year and it seems to have worked very well.

Had a code of P0440 a while back and I had been guilty of overfilling at gas fill up. Most indicated either the charcoal cannister was bad or the roll over valve is defective. I purchased a new OEM cannister and codes stayed off for about 4 months then on came the dreaded trifecta of P0440, P0441 and P0446.

Runner runs fine the only problem was when filling with gas it is hard to start, will crank fine then die immediately as it tries to start. After that it doesn't do it again till filling with gas. I went ahead and replaced the Roll over valve and gasket, the old one ended up looking fine and the symptom when starting is the same.
I know some of the members are actually mechanics for Toyota and wondered if you have ever seen this before and what is your thoughts on what I should be looking at next?
Thank you in advance!

The vsv diagnostic is complicated to say the least. A vacuum leak in the system or vapor lock could cause your symptoms. The basics, check the lines for cracks, check the valve resistance, continuity and operation. you have a new canister with vsv so I dought you have cracks in the canister. There is a purge valve on the tank I would start by testing it. If you have access to the 3rd Gen fsm, the troubleshooting guidelines although tedious should be of great help. Hopefully some one on the forum with your symptoms can jump in and cut to the chase.

I've had this code show up since I bought my 2002 runner (243K miles). The first thing I did was replace the charcoal canister which came with all new hoses and vsv switch. After the code kept showing up, I replaced the gas cap with OEM new gas cap. After the code still showing up, I took the 4runner to a Toyota specialist and they checked for leaks and assured me that there were no leaks and that the codes could be ignored. So I ignore them and keep clearing them when they pop up. However, I do not have any issues with starting my 4runner.
