Is it possible to go through the fuel pump access from inside the truck to extract the fuel?
Yeah that fuse. Did you have any luck with it starting by spraying some starting fluid in the intake? You can't access the fuel pump from inside the truck. That thing under the back seat is just a harness cover. Just drop the tank, its fairly easy, but with a half tank I'd get a friend to help you along with a floor jack and some plywood.

EFI 20amp fuse is good. As for the fuel pump access thingy I mentioned earlier, I’m using that to extract fuel from. I’ve taken out about 4gallons so far. I have maybe 4kore gallons to go. What I did was unplug the connectors and removed the 8 bolts for the cover. Lifted it up and shoved a siphon tube down. Worked so far. Getting it lighter for drop tank.

Ok yeah, I guess you could that way, long as you can keep debris from falling in tank. I had a lot of crap on top of mine.

My tank looks nice and clean. Even the gasket is immaculate. I think I’ll reuse. What’s the torque on the 8mm bolts? Just go by feel and snug tight it on?

Anyways thanks guys for helping me

successful tank drop. It was a faulty fuel pump. Maybe the oring had something to do with it as well, cause it was torn and ripped. All in all it was pretty easy job. Empty tank is a key, although in my case i got stuck. Truck had little over half a tank.

Installed:
Denso fuel pump (bought a while back)
Denso fuel check valve (bought a while back)
oem oring

Next up timing belt. it's due

Fuel Tank Drop

CashFlow,
On your 2001 did you have to remove the driveshaft? Or did you find a way around that? I will be dropping the tank on my 2001 soon - bad overfill check valve giving P0442 code. I'm sure the video you watched dropping the driveshaft was the same I watched by Fix It Angel.
Thanks.

hope fully @cashflow50 would chime in.
I did not undo the rear driveshaft on my 2000 when replacing the fuel pump. 2001 should be the same.

No I didn’t. Was kind of tight with the drive shaft but you have to be patient. It took me a good 30-45 minutes trying to remove the hoses to the tank. Pita but it beats taking off the drive shaft.
