Long bed 4runner

I know a lot of people have chopped up their runner, but are there any examples of custom welded on long beds? Essentially a 4 door taco long bed. Asking for a friend.

Waste of time. Buy a double cab Taco and extend the frame. Buy a long bed from an access cab from a junkyard. There you go, a fullsize compact truck.

Wow

Why not just get a long bed truck and be done with it. I enjoy driving my old ass 3rd gen 4 runner around town but it is a 4 runner and if I need a bigger vehicle I drive the Tundra. Because with additional weight on these old 3rd gens you need significantly more power.

I'll buy your 4runner to prevent this from happening.

It already exits. The Tacoma Crew Cab Long Bed. It's got the 6 ft bed on it, which is the longest compact truck bed Toyota makes in recent memory. Here's an example of one.

2006 Toyota Tacoma V6 / 4X4 / 6Cyl / SPORT / Long Bed / LIFTED

I know just buying a taco would be easier but around me there are so many runners that you really could get a beater for cheap and have some fun modifying it. It would be work but it would be fun to try and build that. I understand it's not realistic, but heavily modifying these vehicles very rarely is. We do it for fun.

The sheer idea of this makes zero sense unless you have the means to do so, and you just want something to do.

Bear with me here... Remember the hideous offspring of the Silverado? The Avalanche? So, you chop off the rear cargo area and weld the hatch to the c pillar area, but make sure it can still open. Figure out a way to support the rear hatch in the open position while driving. Fold the rear seats down, secure the rear hatch up, and whammo bammo you have a hideous Toyota 4Avarranche. No need to thank me.
