on amazon you can look up double lock pin...or locking jack stands and find 6 ton jack stands that have a locking pin as well.
I was surprised that my sons home depot 3 ton jackstands ( Husky) have a lock pin.
I plan on ordering a pair of 6 ton locking from amazon.

Did you need a receipt? I am curious since I don't have a receipt anymore.

No you don't. What I did though is setup so all my receipts goto an email address. So I had it on file but not with me it does state return without receipt on the new receipt they gave me. So the original price was 39.97 the cut back 20% as I have no idea why maybe a used a 20% coupon when bought. Any ways I have a $33.89 gift card for China Freight now.

As these stands are Junk anyhow. I didn't want anymore..;-)

Thanks Brillo. Impressively, Harbor Freight replied to my email about this. This is what they said, should anyone else want to know:

"Good Day,

Thank you for contacting Harbor Freight Tools regarding our Pittsburgh Automotive Jack Stand recall.

Yes, you may return your jack stands to your nearest Harbor Freight Tools retail store and you will receive a gift card equal to the retail price of the original jack stands. Even if you don’t have a receipt, you can return your recalled product and receive a refund. Directions to your nearest Harbor Freight Tools store can be found on our website at Harbor Freight Tools – Quality Tools at Discount Prices Since 1977. Even though your jack stands may currently be in good working order, we are asking all users to immediately stop using these jack stands. Additionally, if at all possible, customers should not return the product to stores until the ‘Shelter at Home Order’ in your area has been lifted. If it is essential you return them before, you should follow the CDC guidelines and remain six feet apart from others.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, we appreciate your business.

You had better luck then me with China Freight. I tried to cancel an order 2 weeks prior to shipping and they refused to do it. So now I have to take it back to the store to return. 4 weeks before it showed up. Oh well.. Slightly off topic but i figured you enjoy the story. :-)

Sorry to hear it. You would think it would be easier to cancel. I’ll eventually return mine, but will wait for a bit. Just won’t use them though.

Interesting. I have two of these stands from HF, but checked and they weren't the affected ones. Thanks for the info!

Well I was talking to a manager. She said it was a disaster since Rona shutdown. I would suggest that unless you want to wait forever for your product. Buy it in the store. As I couldn't cancel it at all I tried 2 times prior to shipping. The good news is I did take my products back no problem getting my refund minus shipping of course. At least I got rid of extra product.

Interesting new article about replacement jack stands.

Replacement Harbor Freight jack stand reportedly fails on first use

From the article
Code:
A stand rated for three tons should support 3,000 pounds [...]
They don't math well it seems...

This is pretty sad ^.

I bought one of the ESCO jackstands to try, in addition to the Torin set I bought earlier.

Not a good start, the post did not retract into the base:

Looked more closely, a weld bead extended into the tube, keeping the post from retracting. Can we all spell "QA"?

I'm getting so discouraged, I may go back to railroad ties .

Best to not replace your China Freight Jack stands with replacement China freight stands. When I returned mine. I just took the money as a gift card As I sure the heck didnt want another junk unsafe set. ;)

That’s really disappointing and surprising to see Leon.
I’ve had zero issues with my 4 Esco stands, they’ve definitely become my go to stands and get plenty of use.
I’ve never heard of anyone having issues like that and reviews seem to remain positive since I bought mine several years ago but pictures don’t lie.
Quality control not up to snuff these days!

Another Esco jack stand user here. I've had mine for a few years now and they are always my go to jack stand. Disappointing to see Leon's came like that.

I do like the looks of the Esco, with the big pads on the three legs, as well as the rubber pad on top. They said they'll send me a replacement base, so if they follow through I'll be a happy camper.
