Wiper Issues

So.. I bought my first 4Runner, a beautiful desert dune rig. Got her for a great price, but with a great price comes issues.

Now... I find this hilarious; my wipers only work on the highest 2 settings. I also cant flick the stalk up to wipe once, and when I pull it, wiper fluid comes out but the wipers themselves don't work. As funny as I find it, I should probably fix it..

Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, how did you remedy it?

Thanks y'all!

I'm normally not one to advocate for throwing parts at a problem, but in this case i would probably buy a new wiper control stalk and try that out

I had a problem with my turn signal stalk - I took it off and saw where the stalk makes electrical contact with some track-like pieces that were pretty worn.
All I did was clean it up and add a small, smooth strip of solder down the tracks so the stalk would make good contact again.

This thread helped me.

This is the best I could do.

I had the same problem with mine (2000 Limited) and it was the stalk. Electrical contacts in the stalk were worn off for low wiper speed. I replaced mine with a used one I got off facebook.
