No accidents A few dings and scratches. Just a horrible salt eaten frame.
I am a victim of Toyota. I drove this car year round and never abused it. We lived in a northern suburb of Boston that always saw snow. Lots of salt on the roads.

If anyone wants the VIN just PM me.

I dispute this statement. We hear this said too much IMHO. If you had been driving a pathfinder, blazer or explorer it would not be any better at this point, and likely would have been scrap years ago.

It doesn’t look like you spent much time undercoating this one.

Those who religiously treat their 4runner still have beautiful 4runners, take @dogtail for an example, look at his WD40 thread. Mine's not bad either for a Canadian vehicle.

As is I have a $900 offer on the table.
I was hoping to get $1,000 as is or $1,200 with all interior black plastic trim (which I was going to sell as a package for $250) back in place.

Here is what those interested have inquired about the most:

E-locker
Full leather Interior Including power seats
Excellent steering wheel
Rims and tires ( with only 4,000 miles on them)
Switches, electrical connections, relays, etc.

It would appear this car that NEVER failed to start or stranded me will be headed for the scrap heap.

If the tires are all season in stock size they IMHO have no added value as a pkg.

I totally agree with you. It is the times we live that people love blaming someone else for this problems instead of taking 100% fault for their actions. I used to undercover protect my vehicles personally when we lived in upstate NY. Never once had any salt damage at all. Not Toyota fault that you don't protect your damn vehicle

Did you drive your 4runner on the beach or park next to the beach all of its life? Looks to be getting 365 days of salt from the road and air for how rusted everything is.

Just a victim of severe New England winters. The car was not undercoated but undercarriage was washed weekly in winter months. I guess I can't say I'm a victim because some people have a hissy fit

Your fine. The northeast is extremely hard on steel. Its how it is. Some people will argue its neglect but I seen vehicles that had everything done to them and clean constantly rot out Even from new. We can slow it down we can do things to make it almost not oxidize. Eventually the rust belt will get them. I been watching it happen for over 30 years.

What they put on the roads on winter really eats them up. Being the 4 runner frame is full of mfg holes the water gets inside and starts eating the steel. Its kinda hard to pressure wash your frame initially weekly when it's way below freezing and the wind is hauling..;)

Thanks for all of the comments and the PM's. They have been very helpful. This was a great vehicle that NEVER failed me. I found a 2000 rust free West Coast SR-5 with 5 speed and turbo charged (not the car on BAT that went for $20,250) that I will use 9 months out of the year. This forum has been invaluable.

How many miles does your new one have? Did you get a good deal on it?
