I'll give that a try, see if it helps. The prices for the LBJ's and castle nuts were good until I saw how much they wanted for shipping. Then again I live in Hawaii so shipping cost shouldn't have been a surprise for me.....

Only went to Hawaii for 8 days and my weeks worth of groceries for my family cost over $200 if I recall. Absolutely insane down there

Are these specs relatively normal or do I need to readjust them?
EDIT: out of pure curiosity, has anyone successfully used 1st gen tundra/sequoia LBJ's on a 3rd gen before? I saw a post and for the of me, can't find it.

Sounds ballpark. Depends on how much braking you did recently. After I fixed my issue, I was getting 130ish .

have you tried amayama... Genuine Japanese Car Part Imports - Amayama
they ship from japan, the shipping except heavy stuff is "ok"' takes a few weeks. But prices are real low...so sometimes even with the shipping you get better than dealer.....the local dealer sucks here and charges 20 to 30% over MSRP, and he is the only dealer for over 300 miles and that next one....they own too.
I live opposite of you....alaska.... and shipping is nuts to here too unless I use amazon prime or something....even places that say free shipping ...in small print say not to AK or Hawaii

Same with the Toyota dealerships here on the big Island. When they quoted 600 for the lowers, I about had a heart attack!

Have you read through the Lift Information/FAQ yet?

No problem, figured that would probably be a good place for you to start. I'm honestly not sure why it isn't stickied to the top of page 1 like the rest

2WD to 4WD conversion.
I am planning on converting my 97 4runner to 4WD and I'm wondering if the transfer case can come separate from the trans or if I'll need to pull them together?

98 Limited Swap to 5 Speed
I have done extensive reading on this and think I am right but wanted to ask before I move ahead.
I have a really nice auto 1998 3.4 4x4 Limited that I just swapped a low mileage engine into. I have a rust bucket 97 3.4 4x4 5-Speed and would like to use to swap the 5-speed and probably the j-shifter transfer case into my 98.
I know this can be done several ways but I am thinking the best and quickest way would be to move the entire wiring harness and ECU from the 97 to the 98. Is this correct? I think there would be a few wires that would still need to be re-pinned or ran (clutch switches).
Does this sound correct and is this the best way to do it? It looks like the ECU from the 97 would not work with the 98 harness without major changes.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but the transmission and transfer case can be separated.

You can either swap the engine harness with the ecm or you can get electrical wiring diagrams for both years of the ecm's and repin the ecm connector and add the manual transmission wiring and change the transfer case wiring. I would swap the harness over so you don't have to deal with additional wiring changes for the transfer case.
In case you didn't know you will need to swap the rear upper control arms and front/rear driveshafts as well.
