2000 Limited 4WD - Totaled in Kirkwood, (St. Louis) MO; Anyone interested?
Truck was totaled and insurance giving me enough to want to move on. My wife wants a newer car as well. So with that in mind, it has 262K on it, drives typical for such.
Damage pushed the bumper in, but no leaks or damages to systems.
Looks very much to be repairable to the extent that it can be driven but likely front components won't align correctly.
Is anyone interested in this vehicle for a driver, or for parts vehicle?
I simply don't have a place or the time to deal with it.
Let me know.
Kevin

Body work looks totally save-able... Good pictures of the frame will help you get it sold for a good price (likely above your buyback price).
Use a 3rd party host to get bigger pictures linked to the forum, and post up in the "for sale" section.
Good luck!

Wtf? That's totalled? Does the insurance company think these are made of glass and balsa wood?

It's 22 years old and the Kelley Blue Book is what they go by for value. There's enough damage there that a body shop repair will push it out of the range the insurance company is willing to spend to repair it. And, can you even get new parts for what needs to be replaced?

EDIT: I know that what the selling price for these lately is really high. It always has been and the standard depreciation doesn't sem to apply to 3rd 4Runners for some reason? I wouldn't pay $18,000 for a 25 year old 4Runner.

Totaled doesn't mean not-rebuildable... it just means that the insurance company thinks it will take nearly the worth of the vehicle (or more) to repair it. If they think that's a $3500 truck, it won't take much to total it.
Mine was nearly totaled for for much less ~7 years ago:
I had to be VERY clear with the body shop what I wanted the quote to be to make sure I didn't get a branded title. That that was ONLY damage to the bumper - that I later sold for $200... (it also was a 2WD SR5 with 270k miles before the price spike... so...)
