's all good man. that did prompt a bit of contemplation on what exactly we wanted out of that truck, and fortunately too in an odd way, that cratered engine prompted the purchase of the 4R, which -- shhhh -- is now my favorite vehicle. don't tell the truck.

Mystery leak
Hey guys i got a bit of a problem. I flushed out my radiator and put new coolant. Then the next day i notice a puddle under my front end. Took a quick look and it seems to look like its coming from behind one of the pulleys near the alternator. Oh sorry. I have a 98 2wd 3rz 4runner. Then again i really didnt have the time to actually do some digging in there. Since i have a new born kid. Anything helps guys. Let me know what if could be. I was thinking water pump. But i could be wrong.

I don't have the 4 cylinder but it does sound like the water pump took a crap. How did you flush it? Just a drain and fill?

Longer wheel studs aren't required for 1/4in spacers, right?
What if I don't need the 1/4in, what's stopping me from using washers? (I like my backspacing as is and am trying to change it as little as I can)
I'll explain quickly below but very long story short, my wheels brush against my calipers but instead of grinding them down more I'm trying to add just the slightest gap.
Brief tl;dr - Bought new wheels a while back and they didn't fit despite being told by the store they would. I didn't notice it at first and tried to drive, and rubbed the shit out of my brakes. So I took off the wheels, sanded the backs of the spokes (to clean them up; left a big burr visible from the outside) and ground down my calipers quite a bit to get them to fit. Worked great. But now I've rotated my tires and since the clean wheels are up front now and the back of the spokes never had metal rubbed off, they brush against the calipers whenever I brake hard like on a steep decline. Instead of grinding on the wheels and potentially messing with the balance, or grinding on the brakes more than I already have, I'm looking for a way to add maybe 2-3mm of space just to help things clear.

Washers will be of varying thickness enough to make your wheel wobble. Some washers will compress more than others when you torque the lug nuts down further causing more wheel wobble. Also with washers you may or may not have the wheel bore centered by the hub bore if the washer spacer difference is enough. Safe bet is using machined spacers.

Does anyone's shifter produce a "click" sound when applying the brake? 01' SR5 4WD. I don't remember it always doing this, maybe it's a new sound?
Edit: it only does this sometimes

That's the shifter interlock unlocking so you can shift out of park.

Hey All,
Been searching the forums using multiple keywords to expand my search.
I bout 4xinnovation rock sliders and during the prep (measuring etc.) We made sure that at full lock the front of the slider was clear from the wheels.
However, when we moved the sliders back to clear the rear lower portion of the fender flares were in the way.
Have others ran into this, and what has been your solution? I have been looking for pics so I can get an idea of what to do there and how it looks.
All the help is much appreciated.

Well that changes things. Does the shifter have a lot of slack in it?
