Sounds a lot like the "start" half of your COR has gone south. When you press the throttle and crank it, the "run" half kicks in, and allows it to run normally. If it were me, I'd try replacing the COR first.

Just my opinion, for whatever that's worth...

Hey there Pat, thanks for the info and where to start looking. What do you mean by COR? What is the COR? I am sure it's obvious haha but I am not seeing what that abbreviation means.

Thanks again,

This is good to know. I'm really interested in getting it. I'm hoping it'll yield a better rear end response as opposed to just running the adjustable bar like I currently have.

Keith's design follows the racing world bar level at any resting height. IIRC day job he's involved with Nascar.

Anybody recognize this clicking? Sounds like a playing card in some bike spokes. Only thing consistent is it starts around 35-40 - RPMs have almost no bearing on it and you can hear it get faster whenever the road gets rougher as if something is loose. Only started after recently replacing the steering rack but I've quadruple checked everything I touched

Hey guys..I just got a 01 3rd gen and I want to replace the lower ball joints. I canÂ’t afford OEM at the moment but will be able to in the near future. I want to order some after market lbjÂ’s from rock auto but I want to get some that I know will at least hold me down till I purchase OEM ones. What some recommendations? Thanks!

Also, if thereÂ’s a thread about this already I would appreciate the link to it.

My 3RZ's oil pump or crank seal is leaking. Planning on pulling the radiator and also replacing the water pump, which has +100k miles on it. A couple questions:
  • Any reason to replace the oil pump cover or just the rotor, gasket & crank seal?
  • Any other jobs I should be doing while I have easy access? dipstick gasket?

Can anybody help me out here? Does anybody know what he meant by COR? I've tried to look everywhere on what it is / means. If anyone knows what he means please feel free to chime in lol... I am stumped. I've searched on the internet and tried to look everywhere on my truck where / what a "COR" would be. I've tried to look it up on forums here too but no luck.
Thanks,

- GH

Exclamation Question about dashboard modification

Hi everyone,

I have a question about modifying my car’s dashboard. I want to swap the positions of my Kenwood entertainment display and the air vents, so that the display is at the top and the vents are at the bottom. You can see what I mean in this picture:

How feasible is this project? What kind of tools and skills would I need? What are some potential challenges or risks that I should be aware of?

I appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thank you!

@Rushthezeppelin is working on that here: Swapping vents with a head unit.

COR = circuit opening relay. It functions to energize the fuel pump whike starting and motor running. In our trucks it's the EFI relay.

Assuming you are having problems on intial start up.
12volts at the battery is too low. Battery should be 12.6v at rest and 13.5vt o 14.4 with the motor running.

Ahhhhh that makes more sense now. Thank you for that explanation. So glad I finally know what he meant lol. Good to know. I just picked up a bunch of OEM Denso relays from a low milage 98 4runner at the junkyard
Appreciate it!
