postive cable connection cover at starter

Has anyone ever replaced the gray plastic cover at the starter/positive cable connection.

Did the start contact replacement this weekend, but the gray plastic cap where the cable bolts to the starter was broken before I even got there and I would really like to replace it.

Do we know the part number? My local dealer is less than willing to dive into tiny details like this.

Many thanks,
Matthew

If your looking for an oem one I believe that's only available with the engine wiring harness, unless another member could chim in and shed some knowledge on this. Toyota should sell that piece by itself because it's not permanently attached to the harness and easily lost.
You could look for something aftermarket or hunting for that part in your local recycle yards.

Sounds like your local dealer parts guys need an attitude adjustment. My local dealer parts department is filled with very helpful people and they have helped me look up countless parts for the videos I've shot with @infamousRNR .

The guy doesn't want to spend 90 seconds (max) sitting in a chair in front of a computer, which is actually the definition of his job? Wow. Even the total ripoff big city dealer parts guys near me will look up a part no problem.

My guess is that you don’t have the original alternator or a Toyota remanned one. All other models I have run into don’t have the post raised high enough so that the cover can fit over it securely, which includes the NAPA alternator I am using now.

I don’t have a part number for it but will post up if I can find it.

I actually used to work with him, I sit at his spot now at the dealer I work at, he moved to Toyota across town. Nice guy, but not highly motivated to chase the small squirrels.

I am envious of those that have dealer parts folks like you describe. I live in a desert of exceptionally helpful Toyota dealers (including the Toyota dealer owned by the parent company of the one I work for, its easily the worst experience you can have.)

I really enjoy finding these little bits and pieces for my Volvo and Infiniti customers. My walk up/retail custys are great people.

This is what I was expecting. I'll have to keep an eye out.
