Yes, it was stripped before I did the job by someone else. You'll be able to tell when you take the bolt out. If it comes out smoothly then it's good. If it's a fight to get every last thread out, it's been stripped. Do not overtighten it going back in, the reason why it's stripped is because the threads are in the oil pump not the block, and the oil pump is aluminum. If it does strip, use lock-tite on the threads and get it as snug as you can since you won't get the full torque spec. Then pray you'll never have to change it again!

Also it's totally up to you about the crank seal. I didn't want to mess with the crankshaft so I just left it alone. I also don't replace half-moons on the cylinder heads, rear main seals, blah blah blah. I know which seals are most likely to leak and I focus on those. I've seen more leaks from mis-aligned seals that someone tried to "fix" like the camshaft and crankshaft seals than I have from the original ones failing.

kind of agree with this..I have been into engines with supposedly new seals...yep new...but not properly installed...wrong depth or twisted...sometimes...no touchy is best

I have everything so far except the crank bolt. I’ll get an oem one from the dealer. How much does a bolt cost at the stealership?

After a long wait, I finally have some time to do the job and alone. Do I have to remove the neg battery cable?

It would be a very good idea to remove both cables.

If not, moisture will build up in there and on foggy mornings and cause horrible squealing, it's even worse when it's actually raining hard! Ask me how I know!

While you are there, it's a good idea to do the Valve cover gaskets/Intake Gaskets, Clean the throttle body, replace all the vacuum hoses you can touch, and do a solid inspection on the rest of them. You Valve covers are likley seeping already, use an inspection mirror to check between the firewall and block, this is where my leak started, now it's all the way around. I wish I had just paid my guy to do the VC gaskets 4 years ago when I did the new Timing Belt Kit.

My foam seal for the upper cover was kinda falling off. Just shoved it back in place. Where do you get them? Is there a part number?
