The voltage regulator is temp compensated. So the hotter the underhood temp the lower the voltage output. But it shouldn’t go below 13.4 ish.

When I bought my 97 SR5 project it had a reman CarQuest Alt that was only 2 years old. The brushes were shot at the 3 year mark.

They use cheep soft brushes that don’t last long.

I haven't looked into a kit but looking to rebuild the one I have.
