New suspension installed....wow

Just got to give some props to everyone on this board and wheelers off road. After extensive research and some back and forth I settled on the Bilstein 5100's and 881 front's and 890's rear. I left the front on the lowest notch so I'm a little arse high but I love it. All my suspension was original with 215k on it but man what a difference in ride. It literally just glides over large bumps and concrete bridges that sent me bouncing around before literally feels like I ran over a pebble now. Supper happy! Pix to come.

Which 5100s did you get? 4runner specific, Tacoma, or tundra?

That's awesome, nothing beats a smooth ride.
I'm new to really working on 4Runners but suspension is one of the things I want to tackle at some point this Summer.

How big of a job was it for you? And i'm curious how long it took?

Thanks

Yea updating the suspension on a 20+ year old vehicle absolutely improves the ride on these 3rd gen 4 runners. When I did mine I soon discovered that I had to update the upper and lower bushing as well. When everything was finally updated using modern bilstein shocks and struts the runner became a joy to drive again.

Congrats. If you haven’t already done so, get an alignment and you'll say wow again!

I have the same springs but with OME shocks. I miss the sophisticated Bilstein ride from my previous 4WD truck. The OME shocks are fine when the truck is loaded, but stupidly stiff and brutal when unloaded.

I had Wheeler's go ahead and assemble the front struts. I work in a shop so I just paid one of my techs to do it but I've done this same job before on my Tundra and it wasn't bad at all. Get a good floor jack and you can probably have the front done in 1-2 hours.
