Biggest deep cycle that can fit

Currently using a group 29 deep cycle from my camper but when it comes time to upgrade since its not AGM, I want the biggest deep cycle I can fit. Would a H8 fit with supporting structure mods? Do those come AGM?

Go check the classified section. Someone is selling a battery tray to fit a Group 31 battery. I haven't seen anyone put anything larger than a group 31, most other batteries are too tall.

Assuming you are filling the stock battery location, a group 27 will be stock height but stick out another 2 inches towards the alternator. A g27 has almost as much capacity as a group 31. Make sure it has reversed terminals.

I put this one in recently because I already had it from my diesel Mercedes and it was only about a year old. I used self drilling screws to attach a beveled piece of 3/4 ply beneath it. The little rope is likely unnecessary but helps my paranoia.

Duracell part number 49(H8)

I'm betting the one you have is an RV/Marine battery which really is not a deep cycle battery. Here are some deep cycle AGM batts: Motive AGM | Trojan Battery Company

Ive got an H8 AGM. Its tight but it fits. H8 is the same size as group 31 but the posts are on the proper side.

It has to by a "hydrid" deep cycle/ starting" since it will be used to start the car everyday. A true deep cycle should not be used to start engines and will not have a cold cranking amps listed.

I just ordered a Trojan Battery from Solar Biz. I think they have good deep cycle batteries.

Totally agree. Apples and oranges. A true deep cycle has thick plates and very little area and cannot cold crank. Most batteries sold as deep cycle are probably hybrids I would guess.

Im curious to see how the Trojan works for you, what one did you order? Ive looked at them for a long time. I have 2 Trojen 6v batteries(the T105's) on my trailer and they work awesome.

I just ordered a CBI group 31 battery tray so if a H8 fits, has the posts on the correct sides and is a starting/deep cycle battery then its an obvious choice.

I’m torn between a H8 or a 27F for my next battery.
