Today is the first time it did it like the title says I'm just trying to unlock the car and it won't. I try remote starting and nothing. I kept clicking lock and unlock trying to get something to happen and my alarm starts intermittently going off. Could this be cause of a bad positive battery terminal connection? Because it's kinda loose and doesn't fit snug and if my battery gets disconnected and reconnected my alarm goes off. But it never has gone off intermittently either so I'm confused. One time it was really late at night 3 a m and I was in the middle of Chicago and it wouldn't unlock! I kept clicking the button for so long. My keyfob was sending signals I could see the red light flashing it wasn't dead but it wouldn't unlock for shit. So I had no choice but to set the alarm off by using the key open the door and alarm goes off once I open it. Nothing I could do inside with the key in the ignition would get the alarm to go off and it wouldn't start. I had to unplug the battery and eventually figured out have the key in the on position when the battery is reconnected and clicking unlock a couple times and then starting the car as soon it unlocks. Idk what's going on anyone have ideas I'm going to get a new battery terminal but I don't think it's that.
HEY! I am sorry you are having issues like this. I have installed many RS on toyota's and I must say Audiovox Prestige is my least favorite. I am making the assumption you have a 1999? 2 things, the BYPASS for the remote start is not syncing anymore and needs to be reprogrammed or your junction box (all your fuses are housed there under the driver's side dash) has taken a crap.
My bet it is the alarm. I would just completely (try to) uninstall the alarm and use your OEM remotes if you have them. The install may not be 100%.
