Yeah but that only happens with people that don't rust proof. I'm about to roll over 400K rust free in the rust belt.

Yeah, I think I'm the only one who didn't rustproof. Shame on me.

Lots of people don't, but one pays the consequence. Anyway good for me in my area cause there's an abundance of cheap scrapped parts.

I never even heard of doing that when I had mine. Only after getting on the forum did I hear about things such as Fluid Film. I think you use WD40, correct?

I had a Tacoma buyback from Toyota for a bad frame, and my first 3rd gen 4runner I didn't do any rust proofing, then I learned from those and have been protecting them ever since. Yes I lube her up with WD-40, works great as an effective old school method. Fluid Film works to. Anything you can use as a rust barrier will keep them from rusting. It has to be done correctly, and maintained correctly, and done every year.
Here's a link for how I do the WD-40 treatment
SEASONAL RUST PROOFING using WD-40 only

Thanks for the link. Yeah, I've seen some of your pics before. The results are great, can't argue with them.

Question: with no compressor or sprayer, is spray cans the only other means of application you're aware of?

You can use a spray can for inside the doors, hatch, hood and rockers. Spray cans for the whole thing is too much. You can buy a gallon of WD-40 for about $20 and get a cheap pump up garden insecticide sprayer for the rest like the frame, rear end and rest of undercarriage.

Sounds doable. Thanks for the info.
