As someone that suffers from intermittent AWD/4WD long engagement problems I wouldn't swap in a VF3 transfer case from a limited. When mine gives me enough problems I will be swapping in a normal j-shift VF2 transfer case and converting all the wiring to get rid of the 4wd computer. Just my $0.02
If you were to convert to the limited transfer case you would need a 4wd computer, electrical wiring diagram, rear driveshaft, and possibly front driveshaft. Some people have swapped and been able to re use the front drive shaft.
