Do I need a Rust prohibiter when drilling into the body?

Hi guys,

I just got my snorkel and to install it I obviously need to drill into the fender. Is there concern about the drilled edges rusting? If so what can I spray or apply on to prevent this?

Thanks

You can get some brush on touch up paint from Amazon and use that to touch up the edges that you cut.

Clean it well with alcohol or solvent and throw some primer on it and matching paint if you want but the edges will be covered so no need for paint.

If you're not in the rust belt you can get away with a decent coat of primer. Just sand down the edges and clean it well.

Try some rubberized spray paint like Flex Seal. I used it to protect some sheetmetal from rust and it's worked well for the last few years.

Epoxy primer and paint. Corrosion protection is something you can never over-do.
