Clean the bolts and chase the threads with a thread chaser or tap is the best method.
If you ever do head bolts on the 3.4 there is a huge difference between torquing the headbolts with and without chasing the threads in the block.
If you are not almost busting a nut doing the final torque to yield step, the threads are either dirty or not lubed properly or both.
