Removing rubber windshild "gasket" ?

After I get some other more pressing issues resolved, I plan on attacking a few rust areas. Unfortunately, one of the rust areas is around my windshield and I'll need to have someone remove that rubber gasket so I can get at the rust.

Question: If I have a glass shop, with their special tools, remove the gasket, (leaving the windshield in place), will they be able to reinstall the old gasket our will I have to buy a new one from the Toyota stealership ?

You can literally pull the gasket off without special tools.

And yes, it’ll have to be replaced.

Honestly; id just pull the whole thing, clean/prep rust; and reinstall.

As per the above drawing, it appears that the rubber molding is one single piece. I did a quick check of it and it looks like it can be salvaged and reused. The molding is a rather "T" shape with the vertical part slipping in between the windshield and the body. And the horizontal part overlapping the windshield and the body. I doubt that it will go back into place AND STAY THERE, unless I use some sort of silicone to lightly coat it. Doing so might also make a water tight seal to prevent further rusting, once I get the metal sanded, primed and painted.

In any event, I have much more pressing problems at the moment.
I don't understand what is meant by "cold spec".

for cold weather, when I moved to the colorado the outer edge of my seal shrunk and curled downwards into the windsheild channel, my runner lived all its life in california. In certain areas the rubber cracked in half where it curled down. I don't have any leaks or anything just wanted to replace it for looks. I think you can use gasket attaching sealant made for rubber seals.
