The OEM crossbars are not strong enough to hold the weight of a tent. I have few OEM cross bars in my shed but we are too far to ship!
There are people who mount a roof rack directly on to the existing bars (as you got) and at the front they make two mounting pads to support the weight right at the A-pillar/roof joint.

I don't know if you can get EEZI-AWN in your area?

search for

Eezi-Awn K9 Roof Rack System

Eezi-Awn K9 Load Bar Set - YouTube

They make a very nice low profile load bar system that is very solid.

you would want to get the track - this will replace the EOM slides.

however many cross bars you want, RTT probably 3 cross bars?

then however many rack legs you need for the number of cross bars.

Since they are based in south Africa I would guess you can get them pretty easily?

note: god man grab yourself a 70 series; you live in the promised land where it's offload whenever you want it.

I ended up getting a aluminum tracklander
1600x1250mm
Wasnt cheap but has a 5 year unlimited warranty
Fitted to my existing rails, will fit new rails when i deal to the rust and paint on the roof.
Holds my roof top tent perfectly

I was under the impression that the Australian government gives everyone a free land cruiser as a prize for winning your first bar fight
