Airaid for the 3rz?

Anyone know if there’s an air intake tube /Airaid for the 3rz 1999 Toyota 4Runner Or if the one for the 3.4 motor will work? Thanks in advance!

yep to be CARB compliant does make a difference...I keep forgetting about that stuff since the state I live in now , and the one before...did not follow any of those rules.
Most are not hard to put on, and then take off for emission tests ? How often do you have to do them ? I know replacing my stock system with my spectre took little time at all...like maybe an hour at most.

hope you find what you need

The K&n intake for the 3rz is the highest quality one out there. But at the end of the day it's a waste of money. Cleaning up the engine bay is the only thing gained from it.

and from everything I have read, that is true ( above quote)...no big power gains,,just a washable filter....and you can get a K&N drop in for the stock box if that is what you want...a washable filter.. the only reason I went with the spectre is 1) it was given to me from a person who wanted to go a different brand ( thank you rockrat) 2) like said above to clean up the engine bay and get that big plastic box off the top of my engine.
you can get rid of that plastic box with a simple pipe from an exhaust shop and keep the rest stock you can find threads on that....
there has been lots of debate/threads on the value of that box and cold air systems on these motors. I can not attribute power gains or mpg gains to those systems....as I did a free flow borla muffler, cleaned up my throttle body and installed the TRD open gasket and a full tune up with wires at the time...and at the time it was a newish rig for me....so hard to say what if any increases I can account to one thing.

after installing my TRD gaskets and decals. trd decals help the most....I did get 50 more hp and now get 30mpg......in my dreams

Tbh there isnt really anything to gain over the stock intake. If you went with a snorkel and a k&n system you could put the carb sticker on the tube and do a survival canister which would enclose and waterproof the intake when connected.

I dont have dyno proof but I know from my calculations I was over 20mpg on 32.5" tires and a lift which is fairly good imo.

Not sure if the carb monster wouldn't get you though. They can be jerks.

As of right now I have the drop in K&N air filter and that helped. I just wanted something with a little Ooomf as I'm going up mammoth mountain lol I was literally going 25 mph!! I'm saving up for the LCE 3rz supercharger low boost (carb legal )

Yeah I'm looking for a snorkel right now. gonna retro fit a low profile one to my car. I hate the snorkel that sticks out and I will probably do what you told me. purchase the K&N or the airaid then add an extenstion tubing to my stock airbox. stick on the carb sticker on it LOL
