For me, OEM period. Even if it is at the wrecking yard, Denso has never let me down.

I will second the OEM quality. Original Denso went out around ~190k miles. Toyota dealership couldn't get a new alternator until next day, which was too long.
Local auto shop could put in a Duralast same day. It lasted about 10 months before the batt light kept coming on and ignition was misfiring.
Took it in, they swapped it out with another Duralast. That one lasted almost a year and started having problems. Local shop replaced it again under warranty.
I bought an OEM alt from a Toyota dealership that does internet sales as a backup in case the 3rd Duralast failed.
After about 15 months it failed too. Even though it had a lifetime warranty, the local shop refuses to replace it again. I had them put in my ordered OEM and order a replacement Duralast which I took, uninstalled as a spare.
Given how important it is to the operation of the vehicle, keeping track of when they are relatively inexpensive on Camelback, Toyota of Dallas, or other stores that do internet sales of OEM parts and picking one up is worth considering.
The "kaboom" of late detonation of misfires is not a pleasant experience.
